~Purpose:

1.) Successfully Isolate DNA from cheek cells 2.) Perpare a PCR reaction for amplification of an Alu insert
~Materials:
- 0.9% Saline Solution - Micro-Pipettes - Tips - Waste Container - Micro-Centrifuge Tubes - Micro-Centrifuge - Chelex - Primer Mix - Master Mix - PCR Tubes - H2O -Racks |
- Agarose - 1xTAE - + Control DNA - Gel Chambers + Molds - Load Dye |
~Procedure:
1.] Swirl some 10 mL of salt water (0.9% Saline/NaCl Solution) from a cup in my mouth to absorb some of my DNA from my cheek cells.
2.] After about 30 seconds, I spit it back into the cup and label a PIN number a Micro-Fuge tube. I swirled the cup briefly before I take 1000 uL-1500 uL of it and place it into the labeled Micro-Fuge tube.
